Gardens & Parks
Solar Science Park, Nizana
The solar science park deals with the solar system and was designed in order to create a learning experience which will increase the visitors' interest in the fields of science and technology.
The garden is built of stone walls, interwoven with the local landscape and rising from the slope, combined with vegetation suited for the desert environment. In the heart of the garden there is a central footpath and to its sides – shaded squares for sitting. The garden is divided into seven clusters, each one introduces a different topic such as: 'the solar system',' the sun as a source f heat', 'the sun as a source of light' and 'the sun as a source of life'.
In the garden "rooms" there are solar science sculptures which stand out, with their varied materials, against the landscape development which is assimilated into the background.
The project was not fully realized; further design process includes entrance structures, classrooms and workshops.
