Ullmann Patio Weizmann Institute
Ullmann Patio Weizmann Institute
About the project
The Ullmann Building for Life Sciences was designed by architects Nahum Zalkind and Moshe Harel in 1963 as a classic, symmetrical square structure featuring a central rectangular courtyard. As a designated heritage site, the building underwent extensive renovation in 2017, which included a complete redesign of the interior patio into a lush green garden that serves as a hub for meeting and relaxation. The courtyard is fully revealed through the interior lobby windows, with wide stairs descending from the main lobby into the light-filled patio. The space features open plazas with seating and tables, integrated planting areas, and mature shade trees.
